Peggy Hsu - 瘋子
After more than five years of waiting, the fans of Taiwanese singer/songwriter Peggy Hsu could finally listen to her second album last week. I learnt about her a few days ago, when I came across the video for this song. It has this sad and almost dark feeling that appealed to me right away. And there's a piano in it too! Have a listen - though I can't understand much of them myself I'm guessing the lyrics alone will make it worth the effort.

Kandahar - My Heart Tells Me
When listening to the song above, I was reminded of this song from Swedish indie band Kandahar. The piano of it has this beautiful despondent sadness that supposedly is very typical for Swedish folk music, Ingmar Bergman movies and older Swedish (landscape) paintings. That sadness can be heard in the lyrics as well but with the overall quiescence it's somehow calming and even uplifting in a way. It's pretty music.
